About the Game

One Man Band is a loop-based musical sandbox game. There is no fixed goal; the purpose is to create a catchy beat by layering sounds on a 16-step grid.

Controls

• A / S / D: Play kick, snare and hi-hat.
• F / G / H: Play bass, keys and horn.
• Step grid: Turns individual notes on or off.
• Record: Adds what you play into the current step.
• Play: Starts or pauses the sequencer.
• Dice: Generates a surprise beat.
• Fill and Drop: Adds a quick drum fill or a stronger chorus moment.
• Save and Load: Stores or restores the beat in this browser.
• Share: Copies a link to the current beat.
• Tempo and Swing: Changes playback live.
• Stage swatches: Changes the visual theme.
• Clear: Erases the current loop.

Animated reactions, crowd movement and stage theme changes are triggered while you play. You can save a beat in your browser with Save and return to it later with Load. Share copies a link to the current beat.

Make your first music loop

Press Dice to hear an instant rhythm, then change Tempo and Swing while it plays. Click steps in the grid to add or remove notes. Press Fill before the loop turns around, then Drop when you want the beat to hit harder. Press Save to keep it locally, or Share to copy a link to the beat.
