About the Game

Falling Sand is a sandbox particle simulation game. There are no objectives or scores. The idea is simple: experiment, draw, and watch how different elements (like sand, water, salt, oil, and fire) interact with each other.

You can create barriers, pour water, ignite fires, and see how everything reacts in real time. Each element behaves according to simple rules inspired by real-world physics and chemistry.

Controls

• Click or touch: Draws with the selected element on the canvas.
• Drag with a mouse or finger: Paints continuously as you move.
• Top toolbar: Select the type of element you want to use (wall, sand, water, salt, oil, plant, fire).
• Brush size slider: Change the size of the brush for more detailed or broad strokes.
• Save snapshot: Stores the current state in this browser so you can continue later.
• Continue snapshot: Restores the latest locally saved state.
• Download state: Exports a restorable JSON file with the current state.
• Download image: Saves a PNG image of the current canvas.
• Right click: (If enabled) Erase or draw with “empty” space.
• Restart button: Resets the simulation without leaving the page.

Tips

• Try combining water and salt to create saltwater.
• Set plants on fire and watch them burn!
• Oil floats on water and catches fire easily.
• Each round, new particles fall and interact with their neighbors.
• There are no levels, so just relax and have fun experimenting.
